Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) is thrilled to announce the signing of Jett Hicks to the SIC Falcon Archers, the college's esteemed archery team. Hicks, a student at Mt. Carmel High School in Illinois, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for archery to the team.

"I would love to thank everyone who showed up for me because you are the reason why I have made it this far," said Jett Hicks. "I can’t wait to be a member of the SIC archery team because the visit was amazing."

Head Archery Coach Ricky Sauls praised Hicks's potential, stating, "Jett will be a big asset to the archery team. Though he doesn’t currently compete in archery, he has in the past, and I remember watching him when he shot for Edwards County S3DA. I am very excited for the team this fall."

Shooting archery since he was 9 years old, Jett Hicks has developed a strong foundation in the sport. He plans on pursuing a career as a Conservation Police Officer and is going into the Outfitter Wildlife Management Program at SIC to further his education and passion for wildlife conservation.

Jett's grandfather is a taxidermist in Albion at Turkey Ridge Taxidermy, highlighting the family's connection to wildlife and the outdoors. Additionally, Jett is set to go Bear hunting in Canada in August with his family, showcasing his love for outdoor activities and hunting.

The addition of Jett Hicks to the SIC Falcon Archers further solidifies the team's commitment to excellence and sportsmanship. The Falcon Archers, which began as a small pilot program in 2011, have since won national awards against Division I universities, expanded to include an indoor facility and indoor team, and regularly host high school tournaments. The Falcon Archers are proud members of USA Archery and ASA Archery.
