The Southeastern Illinois College men’s bowling program has added a key piece to its future with the signing of Herrin High School senior Jaxon Howerton, head coach Doug Cottom announced.
Howerton, one of the top local prospects in the area, brings a strong combination of skill, character, and experience to the Falcons program.
“Jaxon was the one player in the area that we really wanted to get,” said Cottom. “He checks all the boxes in that he comes from a solid program, he’s a left-handed player, a solid student, and very personable. He will fit in nicely with the returning players. We’re looking forward to having him for the next two years.”
Howerton’s addition strengthens a Falcons roster that continues to build momentum, both competitively and culturally. His left-handed delivery and background in a successful high school program are expected to make an immediate impact.
The Falcons are excited to welcome Howerton to campus and look forward to his development in an SIC uniform.
