Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) Men's Basketball is gearing up for an electrifying home game against Greenville University on November 13th at Deaton Gymnasium in Harrisburg, Illinois. The game promises to be a memorable experience as students from NCOE Schools and Gallatin County Schools unite to support their alumni and now SIC Freshman basketball players, Joel Hortin (NCOE) and Rylie Rushing (Gallatin County).

Anticipation is high for the special promotional night, with bleachers expected to be filled with enthusiastic students from both school districts, creating a lively and energetic game day atmosphere. Head Coach Sam Swinford expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to host students from both NCOE and Gallatin County at the November 13th home game against Greenville. We look forward to the home-court advantage they'll bring, and we aim to give them plenty to cheer for throughout the night."

ABOUT THE GAME:

Greenville University brings a dynamic 10-man roster to Deaton Gymnasium, including 3 juniors, 5 sophomores, and 2 freshmen, notably 7-foot-1-inch center Carter Clark. Renowned for their high-paced style of play, Greenville holds the record for the most points scored in a collegiate game, an impressive 200 points achieved on February 2nd, 2019.

Coach Swinford acknowledges the challenge of preparing for Greenville's unpredictable and fast-paced approach, stating, "Greenville is a hard team to prepare for because they sub often, don't do the same thing twice, and will shoot shots that we aren't used to defending. We are expecting a fun brand of basketball in Deaton Gym on Monday night."

INJURY REPORT:

SIC will face the game without Sophomore Amari Wales (hand) and Freshman Ray Horry (hand), while Sophomore Kaiden Kender is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. Coach Swinford expressed empathy for the sidelined players while also noting the opportunity for the active players. "We have known since day one that in order for us to be successful it will take all of us. We have confidence in the leadership our available sophomores will provide along with the ability of our freshmen as we head into Monday night."

STILL AHEAD:

The game against Greenville marks the beginning of a home-court streak for the Falcons, with five more games scheduled at Deaton Gymnasium throughout November. The schedule includes matchups against Kaskaskia College, Harper College, Oakland City University, West Kentucky Community and Technical College, and Arkansas State University - Newport.
