Bryce Conner, a highly talented 6'5" wing from Carmi White County High School, has chosen to stay local and play for the Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) Falcons Men's Basketball team. Conner's outstanding academic achievements and remarkable athletic skills have positioned him as a valuable addition to the team.

Conner's academic record speaks volumes about his dedication and commitment to excellence. Throughout his high school years, he consistently maintained a position on the Honor Roll every quarter. His exemplary academic performance led to him being recognized as Student of the Quarter and receiving membership in prestigious organizations such as the National Honor Society and the National Board Scholars. Conner's exceptional academic abilities were further acknowledged through various scholarships, including the John Evers Scholarship, the CJ Richardson Scholarship, and the McHenry Church Scholarship.

On the court, Conner has showcased his immense talent and emerged as a formidable force in the world of high school basketball. He has secured numerous accolades, including being named the DuQuoin Tourney MVP on two occasions. Conner's outstanding performances earned him a spot on the All Tournament Team in the Eldorado Holiday Tournament and the MVP title in the Carmi Invitational Tourney. Additionally, his leadership qualities and exceptional skills led to his selection as the Captain of the All Conference Team in the Black Diamond Conference. Conner's prowess extends beyond basketball, as he has also achieved success in track and field, winning championships in the 400m race and the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events in the Black Diamond Conference.

Expressing his excitement for joining the SIC Falcons, Bryce Conner stated, "I'm excited to further my athletic career with Coach Swinford and to be teammates with several of the guys I've grown up playing against over the years." Conner's dedication and enthusiasm are evident, and his determination to continue his basketball journey at SIC is commendable.

Coach Sam Swinford, the head coach of the SIC Men's Basketball team, expressed his enthusiasm about Bryce Conner's decision to join the Falcons, saying, "At SIC, we emphasize recruiting local and giving the best players from within the school's district the chance to come in and play. So obviously, having someone like Bryce right here in Carmi made him a huge priority for us to recruit. Not only is he one of the best players in SIC's district, but in southern Illinois. We are very excited he decided to stay close to home and play for us in front of his family and friends."

Coach Swinford went on to highlight Conner's exceptional skill set, remarking, "Bryce's skillset will translate well to the college level immediately. He has a college-ready body. He's a tough matchup because he is taller than most guards and is so athletic and long with his jumping ability. He plays so hard and can get to the rim in transition, while also hitting the 3. He's a perfect fit for how we like to play and he will be able to come in and contribute right away."

Having established a close relationship with Bryce Conner and his family, Coach Swinford spoke highly of his character and work ethic, stating, "He will be another guy like Devin Rankin was for us from Carmi who works hard in the classroom, comes to practice every day ready to compete and represents us well in the community. I'm excited for all of his friends and family in southeastern Illinois to come out to Deaton Gym to support him this season."
