HARRISBURG, Ill. (March 17th, 2023) – Southeastern Illinois College is excited to announce the signing of Joel Hortin to its Men's Basketball team. The 6'2" senior from NCOE High School has signed his letter of intent to play for the Falcons following his graduation in the spring.

Hortin has been a standout on the NCOE High School basketball team, leading the Cardinals to a successful season and earning a spot on the 2023 Greater Egyptian Conference All-Conference team. He has also excelled academically and currently sits at number one in his high school class.

"Joel is an exceptional person and basketball player with a bright future ahead of him," said Southeastern Illinois College Head Coach Sam Swinford. "We are excited to have him join our team and we believe he will make an immediate impact on our program. His dedication to both his athletic and academic pursuits make him a great fit for our team and the SIC community."

“I am very blessed and thankful to be able to continue my academic and athletic career at SIC and continue to play the sport I love,” said Hortin. “I would like to thank all of my family, teammates, and coaches that have helped me get to where I am today.”
