Southeastern Illinois College is proud to announce the signing of Marion High School standout Chandler Buckingham, who will continue his academic and athletic career with the Falcon Bowling program.
Buckingham, a senior at Marion, had been undecided on his college choice this spring but ultimately chose SIC as the place to further both his studies and his bowling career. His signing marks a historic milestone, as he becomes the first-ever Marion High School bowler to compete at the collegiate level.
“Chandler was someone we’ve had on our radar for a couple of years, but his future was undecided until very recently,” said SIC Head Bowling Coach Doug Cottom. “We’re excited that he chose SIC. Chandler has a well-rounded, simple game that will be fun to coach at this level. I’m always looking for players who can keep it in play, and he certainly fits that mold. He’ll push for playing time indeed.”
The addition of Buckingham continues SIC Bowling’s strong tradition of recruiting standout athletes from Southern Illinois who are ready to make an impact at the next level.
