Southeastern Illinois College Men’s Basketball has added another key piece to its 2025 recruiting class with the signing of Cayden Young, a 6’4” guard from Harrisburg High School.

Young averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during his senior season, earning numerous honors including All-Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference, All-Goreville Invitational Tournament Team, Eldorado Holiday Tournament Team, and Carmi White County Invitational All-Tournament Team recognition.

He becomes the second Bulldog to commit to the Falcons this recruiting cycle, joining Harrisburg High School teammate Jalon Ellis.

“We take a lot of pride in keeping the best players in our district here at home and wearing a SIC jersey,” said SIC Head Coach Sam Swinford. “Cayden is one of those guys who has produced at a high level in one of the top conferences in the region, and we’re proud to add another Harrisburg product to our program.”

Coach Swinford also expressed his excitement about coaching the talented guard.
“Cayden is a versatile guard with great size and feel for the game. He competes on both ends of the floor and has shown he can be a leader. We’re excited to help him develop and see what he can accomplish at the college level.”
