Southeastern Illinois College Head Archery Coach Ricky Sauls has announced the signing of Madison Geist of Springfield, Illinois, to the Falcon Archers program.
A recent graduate of Springfield Southeast High School, Geist brings a strong academic background and a promising future to SIC. She was a dedicated student in the school’s Health and Science Academy and graduated as the class salutatorian. Geist plans to pursue her Associate’s degree at SIC before transferring to a university to major in special education.
Though relatively new to the sport of archery, having picked up a bow just over a year ago, Geist has already shown the kind of passion and commitment that Coach Sauls looks for in a competitor.
“Madison has not been shooting long enough to accomplish much in archery, but she has the drive to be the best she can be,” said Sauls. “Madison will round out our Women’s Bowhunter team, which we haven’t had for several years. I am excited about what this year holds in store for SIC.”
Geist’s addition marks a meaningful step in revitalizing the Women’s Bowhunter team, bringing new energy and potential to a program with a strong tradition of excellence.
