The Southeastern Illinois College Falcon Archery Team has added a talented new recruit from the West with the commitment of Isabelle Justice of Gusher, Utah. A senior at Union High School in Roosevelt, Justice brings a wide range of skills and a competitive spirit to the nationally recognized program.

A multi-sport athlete, Isabelle has participated in volleyball and golf during her high school career and has also served on the Hope Squad, a peer support team focused on mental health and suicide prevention. Beyond athletics, she has an adventurous side with hobbies including flying airplanes, hunting, fishing, and continuing her love for volleyball and golf.

Justice plans to pursue an Associate in Science degree at SIC before transferring to a university to earn her bachelor’s degree in engineering.

“I chose SIC for the experience I get working with the coach and team at a highly competitive level,” said Justice. “I expect the experience to be a fun new opportunity and I’m excited for the adventure.”

Head Coach Ricky Sauls first noticed Isabelle at the prestigious Vegas Shoot and was impressed not only with her shooting but with her positive attitude and demeanor.

“I noticed Isabelle shooting at the Vegas Shoot and was able to figure out who her dad was and went and had a seat beside him,” said Sauls. “Isabelle had a great attitude even when she didn’t make a great shot. After watching her interact with her dad for a little while I started talking to him and found out Isabelle had only been shooting archery for about a year and she was a senior and was not sure what she was going to do after high school. When Isabelle got done shooting I introduced myself to her and asked if we could sit and talk about the opportunities SIC has to offer. Isabelle and her family came for a tour and she decided to come to SIC and shoot on the archery team. I am excited to work with Isabelle and see what all she can accomplish because she is full of energy.”
