Southeastern Illinois College Athletics and the Falcon Bowling program have announced the signing of Brody Watts to continue his academic and athletic career with the Falcons.

Falcon head coach Doug Cottom said Watts first caught the program’s attention after reaching out with interest in competing at the collegiate level.

“Brody actually reached out to us about playing at the next level, as he wasn’t really on our radar initially because his high school doesn’t offer bowling,” Cottom said. “After sitting down with him and his parents and watching him throw the ball, it became obvious there’s a ton of potential there.”

Cottom believes Watts has a bright future ahead with continued development and experience around the sport.

“With a strong summer of practice and simply being around the game more consistently, I’m confident he’ll show up in the fall ready to go,” Cottom added. “It’s going to be a major adjustment for him, but it’s one I absolutely think he can make. He’s an athlete and comes from a very athletic family.”

Watts joins the Falcons as another important piece for the growing SIC Bowling program.
