February 21, 2009 Southeastern Illinois College inducted its seventh Athletic Hall of Fame class.  Four new members were added.

Lindsay Jones - was an All-Region and All-Conference volleyball player at SIC. In remembering her time with the college, she recalled making friends out of people who'd previously been rivals. "The thing that sticks out in my mind the most was being offered a scholarship knowing that I would be playing with girls I played against in high school," Jones said, adding, "Funny thing is, we all became best friends the first day of practice." Jones graduated from Lindenwood University in 2004, and currently works for the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development.

Bobby Simpson holds a slew of baseball records for the Falcons, including both season and career records for hits and stolen bases, and season records for doubles and runs scored. He was named All-Conference and All-Region in both seasons at SIC, and continued his playing career at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. After college, Simpson put his playing experience to work, serving as a coach with several schools and teams, and as a scout for major league organizations. He is currently a professional baseball instructor, operating HitRepair, out of Nashville, Illinois.

Wanika Owsley was an all-conference and all-region selection for the Lady Falcons basketball program, and helped lead the team to a national tournament appearance. She lists a win over John A. Logan to advance to the NJCAA nationals in 2004 as her favorite memory of her time at Southeastern. Owsley continued her playing career at Southeast Missouri State, making an appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2006. She is now an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, which is also one of the elite NJCAA Division 1 women's programs in the country.

Donta Smith was a two-time all-conference, all-region, and all-American selection during his basketball career at SIC, and he stands atop the school's all-time scoring list, with 1,498 points. The Falcons reached the national tournament in both of Smith's seasons, finishing 7th in 2003 and 4th in 2004. Smith went straight to the NBA after playing at SIC, spending a pair of seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. Smith has since played in the NBA Developmental League and with pro teams in Bulgaria and China. Donta was not able to be here with us tonight, as he is currently playing with the Melbourne South Dragons of the Australian National Basketball League.
